About the book.

“Beyond Suspicion” — A standalone suspense novel

What do you do when you’re accused of a crime you didn’t commit?
How far would you go to clear your name—and protect someone you love?

Corey Davis is no stranger to standing in the shadows. At the Annual Journalism Awards, he’s content to watch his best friend, rising journalist Emily DeMue, take the spotlight she’s earned. But when Emily steps outside for a breath of air and is viciously attacked, Corey arrives moments too late—and finds himself caught at the scene.

Within hours, he’s labeled the prime suspect.

With his world turned upside down and Emily’s life hanging in the balance, Corey makes a desperate choice: run. Not to hide—but to uncover the truth.

As he digs deeper, Corey unravels a tangled web of secrets, enemies, and betrayal. Someone wanted Emily silenced—and now they’ll do whatever it takes to stop him from exposing the truth. On the run and under constant threat, Corey must navigate a dangerous game of deception to clear his name… and protect the only person who ever truly saw him.

Because in a world built on stories, the wrong narrative can destroy everything.

And sometimes, the truth is the most dangerous story of all.

Inspiration

The spark for Beyond Suspicion came from the idea of someone wrestling with unrequited love for a close friend — the quiet ache of caring deeply without that affection being returned. But the story grew darker: what if that same friend was suddenly attacked, and the one who loved them most became the prime suspect?

From there came the tension of being blamed for a horrific crime, with no chance to defend yourself — only the choice to flee, not even knowing if the person you cared for had survived.

At its heart, this story asks: When the world is against you and every support has been stripped away, what remains? The answer, for me, is faith — the fragile yet unshakable trust that God is still present, even in the shadows, and that truth can still prevail.
